We are kicking off our new 2025 webinar series with "Strategies and Best Practices Amid Shifting Immigration Policies and Developments" on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

This 1-hour webinar will cover fundamental immigration-related information that defense attorneys MUST know, including:

  • What to do if ICE is in the courtroom for your non-citizen client
  • How to determine a client's immigration status, identify pending immigration applications, and check to see if they have been placed in removal proceedings
  • How to navigate situations where a criminal case is pending but the client is already in ICE custody
  • Understanding why something seemingly minor in a criminal case can have severe immigration consequences, including prolonged detention and deportation
  • and other best "crimmigration" practices.

Monica Mananzan, Esq., Managing Attorney for the Detained Adult Program at the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights (formerly known as CAIR Coalition) will lead the webinar.

Upon completed website registration and payment submission, registrants will receive a separate email link for the Zoom Webinar hosted by VACDL.

1 hour of MCLE credit has been approved for this webinar. The course ID will be emailed to all registered attendees after the completion of the webinar.

Non-VACDL members will receive a great discount on their 2025 VACDL membership if they register to attend the webinar!
